Agreement to These Terms
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and Sequence Equestrian Q (“SEQ”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, activating an invitation, or using the SEQ website or app, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use SEQ.
If you use SEQ for an organization, such as a show, a barn, a school or a club, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these Terms for it, and “you” includes that organization.
A show manager, judge, steward or scorer account is for adults: you must be at least 18 to hold one. A rider account may be held by a rider who is at least 13, or by a parent or guardian on a rider’s behalf. A child under 13 may not create an account; a parent or guardian creates and holds it for them.
What SEQ Is and Is Not
SEQ is software for running dressage shows: a score sheet that judges fill in by voice or by hand, a live order of go, and a show office that receives signed tests and works out placings. SEQ provides the tools. The show provides the judging, the rules and the decisions.
SEQ does not organize shows, does not employ or license judges, is not a party to any rider’s entry, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any equestrian federation or association. A show’s official results are whatever that show declares them to be under its own rules; SEQ’s sheets, placings and PDFs are records the show may adopt, correct or set aside.
Accounts and Invitations
- Give accurate information when you create an account and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for everything done with your account, and you must tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.
- An invitation code is for the person it was sent to and may be used once. A show manager may revoke a staff account at any time.
- One person, one account. Do not create an account for someone else without their permission, or use another person’s account.
- A rider account is free. It shows the rides of the riders whose email address it has proved, and their tests only once the show releases them. Enter only riders you are entitled to represent.
Show Managers and Their Organizations
The show manager who creates a show, and the organization they act for, are responsible for the show’s information and for the people they invite. In particular you are responsible for:
- having the right to enter riders’, horses’ and staff members’ details into SEQ, including any consent that a parent or guardian must give for a rider under 18;
- the decision to show riders’ names on the public results page, which is off unless you turn it on;
- inviting only the people who should have access, and revoking access when it should end;
- checking and adopting results before treating them as official under your show’s rules;
- paying the bill for each show, as set out under Fees, Billing and Payment.
The show’s information stays yours. You give SEQ permission to store, process and display it as needed to provide the service to you and your staff, to produce your sheets, placings and PDFs, and to publish what you choose to publish on the public page.
Judges, Stewards and Show Office Staff
If you judge with SEQ, every score and remark on a signed sheet is yours. Voice scoring, proofreading and the ride referee are aids: they can mishear and they can be wrong, and the review before you sign is where you check them. When you sign a test you confirm that you have reviewed it and that it records your judging. Your name and signature go on the signed test as a matter of record.
Safety alerts pass on what a judge has said to the C judge and the show office. They are not veterinary or medical advice, and they do not replace the show’s officials, its rules or a veterinarian.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use SEQ in a way that breaks the law, a show’s rules, or the rights of others;
- enter information about a person or a horse that you do not have the right to enter, or information that is false or intended to harm;
- try to get into accounts, shows or data that are not yours, or to defeat SEQ’s security or access controls;
- copy, scrape, reverse-engineer or resell SEQ, or use it to build a competing service;
- upload malicious code, overload the service, or interfere with other shows’ use of it;
- use SEQ to harass, defame or discriminate against anyone.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules, and we may report unlawful activity to the authorities.
Voice Scoring and AI Features
Speech recognition, on-device recognition, AI proofreading and the ride referee depend on third-party services and on conditions at the show, such as noise, the microphone and the network. They may be unavailable, slow or wrong, and every result they produce must be reviewed by the judge before it is signed. We may change, replace or switch off a provider or feature at any time. Where a feature is optional, the show or the judge decides whether to use it.
Fees, Billing and Payment
Some shows use SEQ free of charge, for example when we invite a show to try it. Otherwise each show is billed once, after the show, as follows:
- What is billed. A base price for the show plus a price for each ride actually scored, at the rates shown on your Billing page. Scratches, no-shows and practice rides are never charged. Where a payment method is used, the bill includes the payment processor’s fee.
- When. The bill closes when the show manager ends the show, or by itself at noon UTC on the day after the show’s last date if the show was not ended. If a payment method is on file it is charged then; otherwise the bill waits until one is added and it is paid.
- Prices. A bill is worked out when it closes, from the rides scored by then, at the rates shown on your Billing page at that time. We may change rates; a change appears on your Billing page as soon as it is made.
- Payment methods. Payments are handled by Stripe under Stripe’s own terms. While billing is on, a payment method must be saved before a show’s first ride is scored.
- Unpaid bills. While a show’s bill is unpaid, its official PDFs and final results are held and its show manager cannot start another show. A bill that stays unpaid may lead to the account being suspended.
- Mistakes. If you believe a bill is wrong, tell us within 30 days of the bill and we will check it. We correct our errors and refund any amount charged by mistake.
- Taxes. Prices do not include sales or similar taxes unless the bill says so.
Your Content and Our Intellectual Property
SEQ, its software, design, name, logo and documentation belong to Sequence Equestrian Q and are protected by copyright and trademark law. We give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable permission to use SEQ for running shows under these Terms. Suggestions and feedback you send us may be used by us without any obligation to you.
Dressage test forms, and the movements, directives and layouts in them, are published by and belong to their respective equestrian organizations. SEQ fills them in to produce a show’s completed score sheets. SEQ claims no ownership of them and is not affiliated with or endorsed by their publishers.
Availability and Changes to the Service
SEQ is a young service, launched in 2026, and we improve it continually. Features may change, be added or be withdrawn. We work hard to keep SEQ available, and the app carries on through short losses of connection, but we do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Keep a paper fallback for anything a show cannot do without.
Disclaimers
SEQ IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT SPEECH RECOGNITION, AI SUGGESTIONS, PLACINGS OR PDFS WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE, THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE AVAILABLE AT ANY PARTICULAR TIME, OR THAT DATA WILL NEVER BE LOST. SEQ’S OUTPUT IS NOT A SHOW’S OFFICIAL RECORD UNLESS THE SHOW MAKES IT SO, AND NOTHING IN SEQ IS LEGAL, MEDICAL OR VETERINARY ADVICE.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, SEQUENCE EQUESTRIAN Q AND ITS OWNERS, STAFF AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR THE COST OF SUBSTITUTE SERVICES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO SEQ OR THESE TERMS, HOWEVER CAUSED. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO A SHOW OR TO YOUR USE OF SEQ WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE FEES YOU PAID US FOR THAT SHOW OR ONE HUNDRED UNITED STATES DOLLARS (US$100).
Some places do not allow some of these limits, so some may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Indemnification
You agree to defend and indemnify Sequence Equestrian Q and its owners and staff against any claim, loss or expense, including reasonable legal fees, that arises from your use of SEQ, the information you or your staff enter into it, your show, or your breach of these Terms or of the law.
Suspension and Termination
You may stop using SEQ and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account, or a show’s access, if these Terms are broken, if a bill remains unpaid, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering the service; where we can, we will give notice first. When an account is closed, the show records it took part in remain the show’s records as described in the Privacy Policy. The sections on fees, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification and disputes survive termination.
Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada and the federal laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in this section takes away rights that the law of the place where you live gives you and does not let you give up.
If you have a dispute with us, write to [email protected] first. We will try to resolve it with you informally within 30 days. Any dispute that cannot be resolved that way will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Nevada, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
Changes to These Terms
We may change these Terms. The current version, with its effective date, is always at seqequestrian.com/terms. If a change is significant we tell account holders by email or with a notice when they next sign in, and the change takes effect no sooner than the date we give. Continuing to use SEQ after a change means you accept the new Terms. If these Terms are ever translated, the English version governs. If any part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about SEQ.
